Professor Nikos Leandros is teaching Economics of Media and Culture in the Department of Communication, Media and Culture at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. Chair of the Department between September 2010-August 2014. Deputy Rector for Financial Planning and Development since October 2016.
Studied Economics in London and Manchester and was awarded his Ph.D from Salford University. Ηe taught Economics at Salford University and for a number of years worked in the Economic Research Division of the Bank of Greece. Member of the Board of Directors of the Athens-Macedonian Press Agency. Member of the Management Committee of European Actions COST 20 and COST A 30. Visiting Professor in a number of Universities including: Boston University, Paris 8, Istanbul Bilgi University, Izmir University of Economics.
He has published extensively in academic journals mainly on Media Economics and Economic Development. Author of the books Print Media in Greece. Economic and Technological Perspectives (Delfini, 1992), The Political Economy of Mass Media. The Restructuring of Media Industry in the Era of Information Revolution (Kastaniotis, 2000), The Internet. Development and Change (Kastaniotis, 2005), Corporate Strategies in the Media Sector (Kastaniotis, 2008) and Economic Crisis and Modern Development. The Perspective of Political Economy (Dionikos, 2012).
